Have you ever participated in any of my knitalong workshops? If not, they’re a bit different that other KAL’s because I structure them more like a knitting workshop where I create lessons for each week of the KAL and share tips, tutorials and video demonstrations all along the way. I also hold interactive Zoom meet-ups during the KAL where I share even more tips and hold open Q&A sessions. My last KAL Workshop was held last Fall and it was for my popular vest pattern Brookdale (you can learn more about it here). If you missed it, I’ve now created a way for you to still enjoy ALL of the lessons, tips, tutorials and Zoom’s from the KAL – it’s the Brookdale Lessons Package!
What exactly is the Brookdale Lessons Package?
After you purchase, you will receive access to the Brookdale Lessons page on my website (it’s password protected so only those who participated in the original KAL or those who purchase the package afterwards have access). It has all of the content that was part of the KAL so you can knit your own Brookdale, at your own pace, and benefit from all of the tips and tutorials. It covers every single step of making the Brookdale, from lessons on picking a size, yarn and swatching to putting your vest together and blocking (and everything in-between). Each lesson is organized and structured so that you receive the right tips and tutorials at the right time, from start to finish.
Need a little garment-knitting confidence?
I think the Brookdale Lessons Package would be especially helpful if you are either new to knitting garments, or just don’t feel overly confident about it yet. If you’ve been hesitant to start a garment project because you’re afraid you don’t know enough yet or that you will get stuck, then these lessons are for you! I know how intimidating it can be to start a garment project when you’re still learning about the concepts of gauge, swatching, picking a size, and general garment construction. Each of the Brookdale lessons are tailored to beginner garment knitters. And because I have done all the work in structuring each lesson in the correct order and sharing the relevant information at the right times, it helps remove the fear about trying something new and stumbling over new-to-you concepts. Just follow along with each lesson, in your own time and at your own pace, and you’ll be walked through each step.
Are the lessons written or on video?
Each lesson has a corresponding webpage where I provide mostly written-out tips and explanations. But within each of these webpages I also include video demonstrations or photo tutorials if there is a particular knitting stitch or technique. And by purchasing the package you will also gain access to the Zoom recordings from the KAL workshop (which are all video) where I share presentations, tips and additional demos.
Can I reach out if I need additional help?
Yes! I am always available via email should you have additional questions or get stuck at some point.
How do I purchase the lesson package?
Simply click here and add the product to the cart! The pattern is not included so if you also need a copy of it make sure to click the “add” box. After purchase, you’ll receive an email with a link to download the Lessons Info PDF. In this document is the website link and password where you can access all of the lessons.
I’m a yarn shop. How can I share this with my customers?
There are multiple options you can consider if you want your customers to benefit from the Brookdale lessons.
If you would just like to share the information about the availability of these lessons (especially as a way for newer knitters or those wanting to gain a bit more garment knitting confidence): You can either share the link to this blog post or fee free to copy and paste pieces of the content here (and photos) and include in your own newsletter or social media, along with the link to my Brookdale Lessons product page.
If you would like to host your own Brookdale KAL and utilize all the lessons (so you don’t have to create your own!): Send me an email and let’s chat. I have a wholesale option that may work well for you and can include a live Zoom kick-off meet-up with yours truly!
When is the next KAL Workshop?
I do plan on having another live KAL workshop soon (right now planning for Summer of 2023). Make sure you are a newsletter subscriber so you’ll be among the first to know when it’s announced!
