I am so excited to tell you about my new design, Rosanna! This short-sleeved seamless cardigan uses sport or DK-weight yarn and makes a great little layering piece.
Here are a few of the main features of Rosanna:
- At a gauge of 22 sts = 4″/10cm, sport or DK-weight yarn will work well for this design.
- It’s knit from the top-down and features raglan construction.
- It’s totally seamless!
- Features little eyelet details along each front edge as well as the back of the neck.
- Just-above-the-elbow-length short sleeves (although you can make them smaller or longer).
- Buttonless front bands for an open, layering look (although buttonholes can be added if you want closure).
Learn more about it in my introduction video below!
And if you’re curious, yes, I do enjoy naming my knitting pattern after 80’s songs 🙂 If you want to take a trip down memory lane, you can watch Toto’s “Rosanna” music video here.
Rosanna Test/Preview Knitters
I am SO thankful to my test/preview knitters for this new design! Below are more details and more photos of each of their Rosanna projects:
Angela:
- Knit with Nua Sport by Stolen Stitches (the same yarn I used). She is wearing her’s with approx. 3-3.5″ of positive ease.
- View her Ravelry project page here.
Maria:
- Knit with Duo by Sandnes Garn, being worn with approx. 6″ of positive ease. Maria added buttons! If you want to add buttons, you can check out my Rosanna tips page for tips on how to do this.

Jennifer:

- View her Ravelry page here.
Denise:
- Knit also in Nua Sport by Stolen Stitches and being worn with approx. 2″ of positive ease.

Tamiko:
- Knit in Vintage Baby by Berroco and will be worn with 2″ of positive ease.
- View her Ravelry project page here.
Kari:
- Knit in Coast Uld Bomuld by Holst Garn, double-stranded. This yarn is a fingering-weight, so Kari held 2 strands together (in Fig & Black Currant colorways) to create a more DK-like fabric. She’ll be wearing hers with 2.5″ of positive ease.
- View her Ravelry page here.
Susan:
- Knit with Remix Light by Berroco and being worn with approx. 3.5″ of positive ease. Love how she styled her cardi with a belt!
- View her Ravelry page here.
Nari:
- Knit with Highland DK by Cloudborn Fibers and being worn with approx. 1″ of positive ease.
Marina:
- Knit with Mafil sport, being worn with approx. 7.5″ of positive ease. She made her sleeves long and, like Maria, added buttons!
