I have another pattern revamp to share with you! Similar to my Azalea top, the Snowdrop cowl was originally part of my Spring 2021 collection with Manos del Uruguay/Fairmount Fibers but is also now available as an Elizabeth Smith Knits pattern! This updated version also includes a new “tips” page (link provided in pattern) that has tutorials and tips for making your own Snowdrop cowl.
When I originally designed this cowl, my goal was to create a pattern that would:
- Need just 1 skein of fingering-weight yarn (although sport-weight could work too!)
- Be simple, but still interesting to knit.
- Be something you can wear in multiple different climates.
It features diagonal eyelets across just one side of the cowl for a modern, asymmetrical look. Just enough detail to keep things interesting.
Just like the original, this version is knit in Manos del Uruguay’s Alegria yarn. This yarn is SO soft to knit with and provides the perfect amount of drape for a cowl like this. This version is knit in the Eucalyptus colorway – such a perfect light teal color. And because it’s fingering-weight, it’s such a light & airy layer around your neck – perfect even for warmer climates when you need just a little something around your neck.
