Knit up in the dk-weight Milo yarn from Manos del Uruguay, the merino/linen blend makes this a versatile accessory for multiple seasons. Finished Measurement:

56” wide across upper edge and 23½” tall from upper edge to lowest point

Yarn/Yardage:

Manos del Uruguay MILO (65% merino wool, 35% linen; approx. 380 yds/100 g): 1 sk each of A and B. Shown in i2061 Pollen (A) and i2273 Savana (B)

[DK-weight  yarn]

Gauge:21 sts and 35 rows = 4”/10 cm in St st, relaxed after blocking.

Needles & Supplies:

  • US 6/4 mm 32” circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • Stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle

Construction: 

  • This shawl is worked from the center of the upper edge downwards.
  • The stockinette and eyelet sections are shaped with m1 increases on each side of the center “spine” stitch and yarnover increases inside the 2-stitch side borders.
  • The broken-rib trim continues the shaping with m1 increases.
