Addilyn Capelet

The Addilyn Capelet was originally designed and published by Berroco as part of their Portfolio volume 2.

Wear it like a capelet over your shoulders or have it just drape over your neck like a cowl – Addilyn is versatile and knits up quickly with bulky-weight yarn. There are a few interesting (yet easy!) techniques used in this pattern – tutorials can be found on my Addilyn Tips page.

This is the PDF version of the pattern. After going through the checkout you will receive an email with a downloadable PDF link. If you prefer to purchase through Ravelry, click here.

Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4). Shown in Size 1.

To Fit Bust Sizes: 30-36 (38-44, 46-52, 54-60)”/76-91.5 (96.5-112, 117-132, 137-152) cm
(pattern includes schematic so you can see all the finished measurements)

Picking your Size: If you want to wear your Addilyn like a capelet, pick a size based on the “To Fit Bust Sizes” measurements. If you’de prefer to only wear it like an oversized cowl, then choose size 1 regardless of your bust size (since you won’t require it to fit around your chest).

Yarn/Yardage:Approx 325 (375, 450, 525) yds of bulky- weight yarn, shown in Ultra Alpaca Chunky by Berroco (50% Wool/50% Alpaca; 100g = 131 yds), 3 (3, 4, 4) skeins, #72300 Goose Bay.

Construction: Addilyn is worked in one piece from the neck down and features a garter drop stitch pattern and an asym- metrical, buttoned cowl neck where the elongated stitches (formed from the drop stitch pattern) serve as the buttonholes. It is worked back and forth on a circular needle for the neck and then joined to work in the round for the body and increases are made to shape the shoulders.
