I’m thrilled to announce the release of my latest design, Audrey’s Pullover! This seamless, top-down raglan pullover is the third sweater in the Audrey series. It all started 14 years ago with Audrey’s First Day (the toddler/child cardi version), then came Audrey’s Cardigan (teen/adult cardi) and now there’s Audrey’s Pullover (teen/adult pullover). All 3 are named after and modeled by Audrey, my dear friends’ daughter who is like a niece to me. The first design from back in 2010 was when she first started pre-school. Then in 2020 came the teen/adult version when she was entering high school. And now the pullover version is releasing as she’s entering the college years!
We brainstormed this sweater together starting this past Spring, visited our local yarn shop Mother of Purl to pick out colors, had several fittings throughout the Summer and then a beautiful sunset photoshoot the week before she headed off to college. It was such a fun collaboration and has me already thinking about what our next Audrey design might be!
I wanted to keep the spirit of this design inline with the previous Audrey sweaters, so there’s the similar elements of wide ribbing, v-neckline and skinny stripes. And just like the previous 2 sweaters, it has top-down raglan construction and is worked seamlessly.
But I added a few more stripes to the body (although you can omit if you prefer), created a a high/low split hemline and added some neat visual interest in the v-neck by making it a mitered rib stitch. I also provided 2 options for the body – either no shaping (which is the version Audrey is wearing) or A-line shaping (keep reading to see examples of this).
The yarn I used is Berroco Vintage. This worsted-weight is such a versatile yarn – it has so many great color options, has a good price point and the results look great too. The stitch gauge of Audrey’s Pullover is 20 stitches = 4″/10 cm, so many worsted OR dk-weight yarns will work for it.
I also created LOTS of tutorials and lessons to help you with every aspect of making this sweater. The Audrey’s Pullover tips page is full of helpful info, tips and tutorials, so there is no aspect of this pattern that isn’t covered. The link is included in the pattern.
Over the last couple of months I’ve also had some amazing preview/test knitters work on this pattern – below are just a few of the finished sweaters! Click here to see my blog post that shows all of them as well as lots of helpful information regarding how much ease they’re wearing it with, what changes they made as well as what yarn they picked.
I also made another Audrey’s Pullover for myself, in the A-line version, pictured below:
