It’s the one-year anniversary of my collaboration with Heather of Ewe Ewe Yarns for our Sporty Forty knitalong! We both turned 40 in March of last year and this shawl/kerchief project was a fun way to celebrate. So now that a year has gone by, to celebrate my 41st birthday I decided it would be fun to offer a discount on my Sporty Forty pattern so that you can be Sporty Forty one more time! 🙂 Through March 21st, enter the coupon code SPORTY41 at checkout and you’ll get 41% off of the pattern! Click here to purchase your copy (or you can purchase on Ravelry too by clicking here – discount code will work there as well!) AND, Heather at Ewe Ewe Yarns is offering 20% of the yarn kits of Sporty Forty on her website using the same discount code! Click here to view her shop page and see all of the great color combos.
Sporty Forty Techniques
Sporty Forty is beginner-friendly, so if you haven’t knit a shawl before, don’t worry – you can definitely do this! The two main techniques used throughout the piece are:
- Kfb (knit front-and-back)
- yo (yarn over)
To help give you a visual of how these techniques are used in the pattern, I create some photo tutorials. See below for the graphics!
Ewe So Sporty Yarn
The yarn used in this pattern is Ewe Ewe Yarn’s Ewe So Sporty Merino – it’s such a beautiful and fun yarn to knit with! Heather has great kit options for the yarn available on her website – click here to view all of the great color combos she put together for kits! And don’t forget to use the code SPORTY41 to get 20% off!
