How to Pick your Size: Choose a size that is approx 1-4”/3-10 cm larger than your actual bust measurement, depending on your desired fit. Shown in size 2 (36”/91 cm), being worn with approx 3”/8 cm of positive ease at the bust.
Gauge: 22 sts and 30 rows/rnds = 4”/10 cm in St st after blocking.
Yarn/Yardage: Approx 815 (905, 995, 1090, 1165) (1260, 1360, 1470, 1585, 1710) yds of Sport/DK-weight yarn, shown in Nua Sport by Stolen Stitches (60% Merino/20% Yak/20% Linen; 50g = 153 yds), 6 (6, 7, 8, 8) (9, 9, 10, 11, 12) skeins, shown in color Cafe Flamingo.
Needles & Supplies:
- US 6/4 mm 32”/80 cm circ or size needed to obtain gauge.
- For Sleeves: US 6/4 mm DPNs or size needed to obtain gauge (or you can use 32”/80 cm circ if magic looping).
- For Sleeve Cuffs: US 5/3.75 mm DPNs, or 1 needle size smaller than that used to obtain gauge (or you can use a 32”/80 cm circ if magic looping).
- For Front Band: US 5/3.75 mm 32”/80 cm or 40”/100 cm circ, or 1 needle size smaller than that used to obtain gauge.
- Stitch markers in variety of colors.
- 2 pieces of scrap yarn, approx 20”/51 cm in length.
- Tapestry needle.
Construction:
- Rosanna is knit all in one piece from the top-down and features raglan construction to shape the yoke.
- Sleeves are split at the underarm and body is worked in one piece to the hem with a slight A-line silhouette (created with some side increases).
- Sleeves are transferred to DPNs (or you can use 32”/80 cm circ for magic loop method) and worked in the round.
- Stitches are picked up along each front edge and the neckline and worked in rib stitch to create front bands. Buttonholes are not included in instructions, but should you want to add them, you can visit the tips page for help.
