Two-Color Slip Stitch Rib

In my Fire & Rain cowl pattern, I use a 2-color slip stitch rib pattern. Below is my video tutorial on how to work this stitch:


Reading your Knitting in this Stitch Pattern:

Not only is it super pretty, it’s also a great way to practice “reading your knitting.” You’ll notice that when working a Rnd 1, after the first stitch your pattern sequence will look like this: 1 color B stitch followed by 3 color A stitches (see stitches in brackets below):

And when working a Rnd 2, your pattern sequence will look like this: 1 color A stitch, 1 color B stitch, 1 color A stitch, 1 color B stitch (see stitches in brackets below):

By recognizing what your stitch pattern sequence should look like, you’ll be able to more quickly identify if you have made a mistake (instead of waiting until the next rnd to discover it!).
