Runaround Pond

Runaround Pond is a quiet, peaceful pond in Durham, Maine, not too far from my home. The beautiful, bright green colorway of this Bertha Sport yarn reminded me of all of the shades of green you see at this pond, from the lilypads to the tall grasses. “Runaround Pond” cowl is knit in the round and features an easy eyelet rib stitch pattern.

Short Version: approx 24”/61 cm x 8”/20 cm
Long Version: approx 48”/122 cm x 8”/20 cm

Gauge: 20 sts & 32 rnds = 4”/10 cm in St st in the rnd

  • Short Version: approx 180 yds, shown in Tibetan Cloud by Myak (100% Wool; 100g = 328 yds), 1 skein, Wild Daisy.
  • Long Version: approx 370 yds, shown in Bertha Sport by Dirty Water Dyeworks (70% Merino, 15% Cashmere, 15% Nylon).

Needles and other supplies:

  • Short Version: US 6/4 mm 24”/60 cm circ needle, or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • Long Version: US 6/4 mm 32”/80 cm circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • 1 stitch marker.
