Happy Harvest Cowl

$0.00

In my Happy Harvest poncho pattern, which published last Fall (in collaboration with Berroco Yarns), the instructions include how to make a separate cowl that can be worn with or without the poncho. I have decided to publish the cowl piece as a separate pattern and offer it for FREE. If you are able to, I hope you’ll consider purchasing the yarn for it from your LYS, either online or through phone ordering, to help support them during this time.

Finished Size: Approx. 23.5”/60 cm x 11”/28 cm

Gauge: 14.5 sts & 19.5 rows = 4”/10 cm in St st on larger needles after blocking.

Note: Unlike the poncho, gauge is not as critical for the cowl.

Yarn: Approx 140 yds of bulky-weight yarn, shown in Ultra Wool Chunky by Berroco (100% Superwash Wool; 100g = 145 yds), 1 skein. Shown in Driftwood, 43104.

Note: Berroco’s Ultra Wool Chunky which is widely available at many yarn shops. Other great Berroco options would be Catena (pictured in slider), Vintage Chunky, Ultra Alpaca Chunky or Comfort Chunky. Berroco has a store locator on their website if you want to find a LYS near you that carries any of these great options. Or consider emailing or calling your LYS and they are sure to suggest some great yarn substitution options!

Less yardage will work as well – your cowl will just be a little shorter.
